UNPARLIAMENTARY LANGUAGE IN BIBLE, SWEETNESS OF TONGUE IN VEDAS

1. UNPARLIAMENTARY LANGUAGE IN BIBLE

(i) Use of the word bastard for non-believers

According to Holy Bible, those who do not endure hardships of life treating them as a punishment from God are bastards, and not sons.  The New Testament states, Whatever hardships and difficulties you endure, treat them as a punishment from Father.  Who is the son whom Father does not chastise to chasten ? If you are not chastised, you are then bastards, and not sons. It means those who consider Christ as their Father and endure the hardships treating them as a punishment by Father for chastening, are real sons of the Father, while others are bastards.

165. 7. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

- Hebrews, 12/7

166. 8. But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

- Hebrews, 12/8

(ii) Use of the word dogs for men

The New Testament states that Saint Paul writes in his letter to the Philippians, Beware of dogs and evil workers Is it parliamentary language ? Does it behove a saint to use the word dog for the man, whose ideology is different ? Read the passage as it is :

167. 2. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
- Philippians, 3/2

Saint Paul, who was the main promoter of Christianity in early days, was beaten thrice with stripes and rods by the Jews and stoned too for his afore-mentioned swear Words (obscene words).  He admits in the New Testament as under :

168. 24. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
- II Corinthians, 11/24

169. 25. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned,

- II Corinthians, 11/25

2. SWEETNESS OF TONGUE IN VEDAS

Holy Vedas preach purity of speech and sweetness of tongue.  Loving and affectionate heart pours sweetness through its tongue wherever it goes.  By the dint of sweet words one can conquer thousands of hearts.  Thus little tongue can achieve big results.  It elevates man to honoured position, when it makes use of honeyed words.  It degrades man to the lowest position of shame and meanness, when it bursts into vile words.  Vedas give message of love, peace and sweetness.  Sweetness of tongue may be compared to an ambrosia or soothing balm, which possesses healing power.  It can heal the wounds.  Bitter words may be compared to a poison which kills, or a fire which bums.  Sweetness of tongue costs nothing but buys everything.  By spending nothing, it buys and befriends hundreds of hearts.  It transforms f6e into friend and pessimist into optimist.  It works wonders and achieves miracles. Here is Vedic prayer elucidating the same point

                    à Aqava-vaod 1ó34ó2

May the tip of my tongue
Be sweet as honey,
May the root of my tongue
Be sweet as honey,
O Supreme Sovereign of sweet world,
May all my deeds
Be full of sweetness, May my mind
Be full of sweetness
