Bengal Pat
Just like the patchitra the art form developed in Bengal came to be called Bengal pat.Paintings were made of dyes of soot,spices and earth and show the life and times of the society .The major colors used are red , indigo, green , black and ochre. Some paintings allow a spoof on old social practices. This form developed hundred of years back when artists used to sing about old incidents and popular lore to villagers. Later these artists started depicting such stories on cloth scrolls and that is how this art emerged.
