Warrant issued

October 1925 a warrant was issued against his name. It was alleged that he had illegally removed a statue from the Chausath Yogini Temple which is located in Jabalpur. It was due to these allegations that Rakhal Das was immediately put into suspension. A case was registered and proceedings ensued. Even though the case was eventually dismissed some 3 years later Rakhal’s boss asked him to resign from his past. Rakhal das retired from the ASI in the year 1928. The pain was too much for Rakhal das to bear and heartbroken he passed away in the year 1930.
