१२ जुलै २०१७: रॉ मुख्य कार्यालय - "Sir, There is one message from Iraq Embessy’’ तपास यंत्रणेतील एक सदस्य इम्रान त्याच्या वरिष्ठाच्या केबिनमध्ये प्रवेश करत म्हणतो.
"What massage?" वरिष्ठ रॉ अधिकारी रणवीर सक्सेना विचारतात.
"Sir, there is a terrorist from Pakistan name shoeb, he has kept all collage students as prisioners in Iraq." इम्रान म्हणतो.
"Was there any Indian?" रणवीर सक्सेना विचारतात.
"No sir, The plan was to send shoeb and his 100 companion to National College of Sri Lanka from Iraq College" इम्रान म्हणतो.
"So do they want to attack on Sri Lanka?" सक्सेना विचारतात.
"No sir, Those people will become Iraqi students in Sri Lanka and from there they will come to our country for post graduation. Coming as a student is just an excuse. Actually they want to attack again on our country. Shoeb got this trick to avoid our tight security & for not to doubt they are not carrying any weapons with them. Maybe they want to attack on Indepedance Day." इम्रान म्हणतो.
"Are you sure is this going to happen?" सक्सेना म्हणतात.
"Yes sir, just see this" आपल्या हातातील पेपर्स सक्सेना सरांच्या हातात देत तो म्हणतो, "An application has been received from Sri Lankan college that 100 students and 1 professor to come to India in connection with studies. Kindly co-oprate them. This letter was sent to our Foreign Ministry yesterday evening."
"Oh… thts true." हातातली कागदपत्रे हाताळत सक्सेना म्हणतात, "So, what next?"
"Sir, we are waiting for your order now" इम्रान म्हणतो.
सक्सेना सर आता विचारात पडतात. देशात दहशतवादी हल्ला पुन्हा होऊ नये यासाठी सक्सेना नेहमी प्रयत्नशील असत. भारताने या वर्षभरात अनेक स्तरांवर सर्वोत्कृष्ट कामगिरी केलेली असल्याने या वर्षाचा स्वातंत्र्य दिन संपूर्ण भारतीय उत्साहात साजरा करणार होते. सक्सेना यांना दहशतवाद्यांकडून काही ना काही हालचाल होणार याची पूर्ण खात्री होती, आणि घडलं देखील तसच. सक्सेना यांनी आत्तापर्यंत अनेक दहशतवादी हल्ले होण्यापासून रोखले होते, फक्त त्यांच्या सर्व मोहिमा गुप्त असल्याने सामान्य नागरिकांना याबाबत कोणतीही माहिती मिळत नसे. आज पुन्हा एकदा त्यांच्यावर परीक्षेची वेळ आलेली असते. बराच वेळ विचार करून ते म्हणतात.
"As I read just now, they want to go different places of our country on the same day, they want to attack at different places all over the country on the same day. Look, we have good relations with Sri Lanka. If we will declare them a terrorist, our good relation can have a bad effect." सक्सेना पुढे म्हणतात, Let shoeb and his companions cone to India"
"But sir…" इम्रान म्हणतो.
"They have no weapons because weapons are already come to India. If we stop them, then also attack will definitely be there, if they come then we can eliminate them before attacking." सक्सेना म्हणतात.
"Ok sir, I’m going to inform Foreign Minister to approve the sanction." असं म्हणत इम्रान तेथून निघू लागतो.
"Imraan…" सक्सेना म्हणतात.
"Yes sir…" इम्रान म्हणतो.
"All those students will come to our country but on 14th August. Before 15th August they must have to register their name in Mumbai University. So first, they all have to come to Mumbai." हल्ला रोखण्यासाठी सक्सेनाच्या डोक्यात एक युक्ती येते. इम्रान त्यांना चांगलाच ओळखून होता. होकारार्थी मान हलवत तो केबिनमधून बाहेर निघतो.
‘Want to attack in our country? He does not know that the country is in the hands of honest people. Now it’s just waiting for you, even we can show what we can do.’ सक्सेना विचार करत स्वतःशीच म्हणतात.
नॅशनल कॉलेज, श्रीलंका: १३ जुलै २०१७ - "We got confirmation letter from Indian Foreign Ministry." प्राध्यापकाच्या केबिनमध्ये प्रवेश करताच सुवर्णमुखे शोएबला म्हणतो.
"Sounds good, then when we can start our journey?" शोएब उत्साहाने म्हणतो.
"You may leave on 14th August. This is a procedure." प्राध्यापक म्हणतात.
"That's fine." शोएब म्हणतो.
"Do you want any professor to come with you from our college?" सुवर्णमुखे म्हणतो.
"No, thanks." शोएब म्हणतो.
"They probably mentioned that you all have to go Mumbai University first before starting your research." सुवर्णमुखे म्हणतो.
"But why?" शोएबसाठी हे अनपेक्षित होते.
"As I told you before, this is a procedure Sir." भारताच्या परराष्ट्र मंत्रालयाकडून आलेल्या पत्राची एक प्रत शोएबचा हातात देत सुवर्णमुखे म्हणतो.
पत्र वाचून शोएबच्या तळपायाची आग लगेच मस्तकात जाते. आतापर्यंत सगळं त्याच्या मनासारखं झालं होतं, पण भारताच्या परराष्ट्र मंत्रालयाकडून त्याला पहिल्यांदाच धक्का बसतो. तरीही आपला राग शांत ठेवत तो सुवर्णमुखेला म्हणतो, "Is it too late now, Can we convince them?"
"No sir, this is international procedure. We cannot interfere in their procedure. But we can show you beauty of Sri Lanka." सुवर्णमुखे गंमतीने म्हणतो.
भारतामध्ये प्रवेश करण्यासाठी शोएबला नॅशनल कॉलेज सोबत चांगले संबंध ठेवायचे असतात, म्हणून तो सुवर्णमुखेचा प्रस्ताव स्वीकारतो. शोएब आणि त्याच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना श्रीलंका फिरवण्याची जबाबदारी सुवर्णमुखे घेतो.
