Fire Rainbows

These offshoots are actually a large halo of refracted light and not related to fire or rainbows. They happen when sun is at least 58 degrees above the horizon and that too when there are cirrus clouds in the sky.

This refraction of light is always parallel to horizon and only sections of these arcs are seen that is why it looks as if parts of the cloud are on fire.
