Shivaji :Hindu king in Islamic India by James Laine
Shivaji is a much revered warrior king of the medieval era .In his book published in 2003 Laine looked at Shivaji dispassionately and even suggested that his parents might have been estranged. A militant mob attacked the institute where Laine had carried out his research and Maharashtra banned the book. Though the High court and supreme court overruled the ban in 2007 this book is still not available easily in India.
